Strange and pathetic statement from harper on Wright's resignation (emphasis mine):
Prime Minister Stephen Harper today issued the following statement on the resignation of Nigel Wright:
“It is with great regret that I have accepted the resignation of Nigel Wright as my Chief of Staff. I accept that Nigel believed he was acting in the public interest, but I understand the decision he has taken to resign. I want to thank Nigel for his tremendous contribution to our Government over the past two and a half years.
“Our Government’s top priority is, and will continue to be, securing jobs and economic growth for Canada. This is the focus of all our efforts and attention. “
No explanation, no apology, just bracketed by a pathetic attempt to tell us that the scandal that has held front page news for over a weak and exploded over the weekend is not important, because, you know, the economy and jobs. "This is the focus of all our efforts and attention. “
Not rampant corruption , not job rigging, not the PMO involved in white-washing reports, not the foreign worker program taking jobs from Canadians on EI, not deceptive ads promoting programs that don't exist.
No, jobs and the economy. Oh, yeah, please do forget that most of the harper rhetoric on those two issues is massive bull-shit as well.

Just like the endless repetitions of those CONada Action Plan ads, Harper just keeps staying on his jobs and economy script hoping that with enough repetition, the public will buy it. And for the most part, it's worked :-( People probably still think that the economy would go down in flames if anyone else was PM. The CONS have mastered Propaganda 101, especially with great support from our less than independent media.
