Stephen Harper is being hailed as a modern-day “Abraham” for his defence of Israel in a recent speech to a conference on combating anti-Semitism.
Sure!
Harper takes his orders from an invisible sky monster demanding that we simply follow along, as did Abraham.
Harper is opportunistic, as was Abraham.
Harper lies, gives the orders, then hides because he’s a coward, putting others in the line of fire and treating the innocent as criminals, as did Abraham.
Harper casts women into the wilderness to fend for themselves when they are no longer useful to him, as did Abraham.
Harper is willing to send those he is supposed to protect to their deaths just to suck up to power in the hopes of benefiting personally from the sacrifices, as did Abraham.
Have to admit, the bit about the great, virtuous Abraham marrying his own half sister (Gen:20:12) is not like harper. He’d be more inclined to marry his clone.
Gods and other monsters…even today some people continue to praise the most vile as virtuous.
