NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! There can be only ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does King steve know about this?

He may be acting like he can make his own laws, but there can be only one in The Harper Government™

I don't believe dinosaurs walked the earth with humans...

But there are certainly Neanderthals walking among us today.

"The integrity of decisions made by my department is being questioned too often without sufficient justification." Jason Kenney on the Federal Court.

Gee, maybe that’s because of this:

Under the Harper government, acceptance of refugee claims from applicants already in Canada has fallen sharply, from nearly 16,000 in 2006 to just more than 9,000 last year. The number of successful applicants on compassionate and humanitarian grounds, which had been averaging between 10,000 and 11,000 a year, fell to 8,848 in 2010.

And maybe it’s because your party and those who support it  tend to think women ask for the violence they receive.

And maybe the Federal Court, which can really look closely at legal issues and is therefore given authority to override CIC decisions took note of the increasing number of gender-related persecution cases being turned down by Kenney’s department.

(In) 1993, Canada became the first country in the world to establish formal guidelines for refugee claims by women facing gender-related persecution.

Not all countries protect women and children from brutal domestic violence, and in many cases, even when protection laws exist, they aren’t enforced.  Just like the bad old days in Canada when such abuse was considered a private matter.

If Kenney doesn’t want the Federal Court to legally override his decisions, he should really shed his caveman attitudes, examine the laws relating to women, recognize that women all over the world still have to fight - at great risk - for the simple right to safety, and start treating women the same way he would treat his bestest, white, rich, christian buddies.

Merry Christmas, ya bunch’a heathens

Harper sent around his Christmas greeting.  When I received it by e-mail, there was a line in bold, but on the PMO website, there's  no bold.
(as appears in the e-mail):

“But for now, this is the season to count our blessings. For Christians, the greatest of these is Christmas itself, the birth of Jesus Christ.

“But for Canadians of all backgrounds, it is our shared ownership of the most fortunate of all lands, our Canada, with its deep traditions of freedom, tolerance and generosity. This Canadian birthright draws to our shores people of all faiths, who in coming, strengthen it all the more.

Generosity...sure, and didn't harper show that generosity today?

At least 10 Greater Toronto immigrant service agencies have been told by Citizenship and Immigration Canada that their program funding will not be renewed next year, with up to 35 others across Ontario also facing “significant” cuts.
Those agencies provide a wide range of services, many of them for women and children.  Services include language training, job search, job training, locating housing, adapting to Canadian culture, and important cultural training explaining that christians and secular societies aren't hated-filled baby-eaters.  In other words, they try to break through and educate people who may carry racial hatred from their own cultures.
Hoskins noted the majority of the defunded organizations are ethnocultural agencies serving specific ethnic communities.  Their specialties can’t be replaced,” Hoskins said. “They are upset at what they called the ‘blunt’ and ‘brutal’ manner the news was delivered to them, in a letter, two weeks before the holiday. None understands the justification and rationale behind it.”
Here is the list of GTA agencies losing federal funding:
Here are a few photos from some of their websites:

Are we seeing a pattern to the cuts?
Kenney, the Minister of Curry-in-a-Hurry was heard on CBC news later explaining that The cuts to GTA are because immigrants just aren't moving to TO anymore, so fairness dictates money should be spent elsewhere in Canada.  Well, that's a lot of horse-shit.  The cuts are all across Canada, not just the GTA, and people running the centres are saying TO is still getting a lot of immigrants not just directly, but from other provinces as well.
Mean, elitist government.
But hell, they need to make those cuts for this (emphasis mine):
Nothing is final, but the new headquarters is envisioned as a veritable puzzle palace for Canadian cryptographers. Part of the inspiration comes from high-tech companies, who have found that good things happen when staff are forced to work together – and when they play as hard as they work.

But that only applies to real Canadians.  You know, white, male, christian conservatives.  And spies.  "Cause spies are so fucking cool.

Monster of the Week: Jason Kenney

Monster of the Week is Jason Kenney for slandering a major international aid group, thereby allowing countless people to suffer and die due to lack of funding.

Slime Minion of the Week goes to Bev Oda, who could not match her message to Kenney`s but still helped cancel that aid.

Harper says fuck you to foreign aid recipients

They don`t vote for him anyway, so what the hell.

Bad enough when you publicly accuse someone of being anti-Semitic in public.  Even worse when that affects a group`s funding and ability to perform, labeling them in the eyes of the world.

The United Church of Canada and other Canadian churches are demanding Prime Minister Stephen Harper explain why one of his cabinet ministers accused them of being anti-Semitic.

The United, Catholic and Anglican churches are part of KAIROS, an aid group that was shocked to hear Immigration Minister Jason Kenney say its funding was lifted as part of the Conservatives' effort to cut off anti-Semitic organizations.

Shocked doesn`t cover it.  Labeling them as an anti-Semitic organization?  That's lawsuit territory, CONs.

Who are these racists, these anti-Semites?

Besides the United and Anglican churches, Toronto-based KAIROS's members include the Presbyterian Church in Canada, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Mennonite Central Committee - Canada.  Working with 21 partner organizations around the world, KAIROS sponsors projects promoting social and economic justice in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

KAIROS is committed to relieve suffering across the planet, regardless of creed or colour.  Because they made some statements opposing the CON support of countries engaging in human rights violations (mining) and because they expressed concern over some of the actions committed by the Israeli army, and because they spoke out about the destruction caused by oilsands development, they have become yet another group on the growing list of people and agencies targeted by Harper`s campaign to silence anyone who does not promote his narrow ideology and personal, political goals.

The cost of allowing this war on anything but Harper to continue is high.

Gerry Barr, president of the Canadian Council for International Co-operation, said Kenney's remarks have compromised the integrity of the Canadian International Development Agency's entire foreign aid funding operation.

"There needs to be a larger discussion about CIDA's decision-making than merely what's happened to KAIROS, but KAIROS would be the classic example," said the Liberals' John McKay.   Based on KAIROS's experience, McKay said, a non-governmental organization "could be absolutely welded to the 'priorities' of the government as stated by Minister Oda, but if you fall outside of the government's particular dictum of political correctness, you're toast."

So it`s fuck you to people in desperate need of help if anyone connected to that aid dares to tell the truth about Harper`s human rights violations.
