The committee of amateur comedy, racism, hate and misinformation

You would think that if a Committee is serious about studying an issue, they would get specialists with factual knowledge of that issue to testify.

Not anymore.  Not in this new Parliament that appeals to the stupid, the shallow, the viewers of American Idol and other great, intellectual programs.

No, now Committees appear to be in the entertainment industry as well.  Might be starting their own version of That's Incredible!  Guests need not be informed or specialists.  In fact, that's discouraged because all that sciency stuff and all those facts are, well, just plain boring!


Levant...was invited to speak to the Natural Resources Committee while MPs study the future of Canada's lucrative yet controversial industry.

Of course.  Wouldn't a racist big mouth who has been sued numerous times for spreading lies, a lawyer of some kind who has nothing to do with earth sciences be top pick for your panel on the pros and cons of developing the oil sands? 

Oh, right.  Biggest qualifier to appear as a guest on harper's new and ever-so-modern  reality tv Parliament show is that the guest must agree with the programmer's conclusions ahead of time and all answers must help support that conclusion.

Levant's valuable contribution to the Committee:

"I don't know what God was thinking when he was handing out oil, but he gave it to all the world's bastards - Saudi Arabia, Iran Venezuela, Nigeria."

How can you not put someone who says such things on National, public funded TV?

Why is Ezra Levant still alive?

Because you can’t sue a dead man.

See, that’s a joke.  No one could take it as a threat to the weasel’s life.  No one can say that I am suggesting he be murdered.

That's fine. And it's the law. I don't expect the U.S. government to kill Assange, but I do expect them to try to stop him.

Our Ezra, however, doesn’t let things like laws dictate his proposed course of action:

Why is Assange still alive? Why is he being treated as a journalist or political activist? If someone had published the intimate details of the D-Day plans during the Second World War, he would never have been seen again.

Assange and his colleagues act like spies, not journalists. WikiLeaks could have its assets seized, just like the Taliban has. And U.S. President Barack Obama could do what he’s doing to the Taliban throughout the world.

He doesn’t sue them or catch them. He kills them. Because it’s war.  Obama has even ordered the assassination of an American citizen, Anwar al-Awlaki.  How does Obama see Assange any differently?

When the weasel takes it beyond offering a general opinion on government sanctioned assassination and lays out an argument why a specific person should be murdered, and why it’s not only okey-dokey fine for a government to commit that murder but that the government is reprehensible if it doesn’t, he crosses from generalizations on the topic to promoting a specific course of action – namely murder – to be committed against a specific individual.

Meanwhile, the blubbery, cowardly piece of shit sit in his chair taking statements out of context to justify his bilious verbal vomit, safely ordering someone else to commit murder.  That, Ezra, is why people sue you.

How about we set up a nuclear waste facility in your living room, Ezra?

You can entertain with racist jokes as people work.

(Ezra) Levant says Canada should set up a refugee-processing centre on the Haida Gwaii and handle Tamils as Australia does.

That idea exposes so, so many really vile things about Levant.  Haida Gwaii is an absolutely gorgeous archipelago made up of over 50 islands and the idea of setting up what Levant most likely envisions as acres and acres of wire cages for the Tamils and buildings for the white folks to work in shows pasty-face has no concept of, or appreciation for natural beauty.  Nor does he give a damn about a history far older than that of those real (?) Canadians he seems to prefer – you know, the ones who invaded a few hundred years ago and committed several acts of genocide in an attempt to eradicate the Original People.

The Haida Gwaii is the homeland of the Haida First Nation.  It isn’t an abandoned wasteland that no one gives a damn about.  They would probably have something to say about Ezra’s idea.

Then there’s the idea that for some reason, the Tamil are so dangerous they should be shuttered away on what Levant, in his ignorance, considers a remote, useless island.

Sure.  Then in 70 or so years, we can give them all an empty apology...maybe.  If we don't keep re-electing these pricks who feed the hatred.
