Alberta Professor shows Christian compasssion

I'll bet she's on the no-fly list for that.

Zinck said she began writing to Khadr in November 2008 because her Christian faith asks people to comfort those in need, including prisoners.
In his letters, Khadr expresses his gratitude to Zinck "to know I am not alone now," and discussed the books he read, including Great Expectations and Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson. He often signed off saying he hoped to meet Zinck and possibly attend the small Christian college in Alberta.  In one of his last letters in April of this year, Khadr wrote a page on his thoughts about the book, A Long Way Gone, Memoirs of a Boy Soldier, by Ishmael Beah.

Good for her, I guess. BUT this is the same college that fired a TA (who had won awards for his work) for being gay and then FOUGHT his reinstatement all the way to the Supreme Court, where he won.

So. Someone who throws a grenade that kills an American is 'a-ok' with them but someone with same-sex attraction goes through 12 years of hell because of their instigation?

That's pretty bad about the college firing someone over being gay. However, Zinc didn't fire him, and the actions of the college Dean (I'm guessing he did the firing) have nothing to do with Zinc's show of compassion for Khadr. One action by another person doesn't negate the actions of another.

Nor did Zinc say killing anyone is ok, and she wrote as an individual, not on behalf of the college. Can't link the two.

Thanks for the info, though. I'm not a big fan of faith based morality, and what you said about the firing is another example of how it feeds intolerance and ignorance.
