We are the Government of Canada We are the Government of Canada and we do care that our name is being changed by one man to reflect his personal and political goals.
In Canada, the Prime Minister is not the government. nor is the government his personal stage on which he is producer, director, scriptwriter, filmatographer and the only actor of importance.
The Government of Canada is the people’s government where the people send those they elect in their ridings to speak and act in their best interests.
That’s how it is supposed to be, but one man does not agree. Harper believes that by naming our government after himself, he will undermine and change our understanding of the Government of Canada and the power that a true democracy gives the people through their elected representatives.
Harper seems to think few Canadians care that he has renamed our government after himself. Show him you do care. Show him it is your government. Join this group and invite others to do the same.
Use your voice. Use your rights. Or risk losing both.
