How does a refusal to compromise while you have a minority government fit in with competent, or master strategists?
Other words come to mind - deluded, arrogant, autocratic, dictatorial...
Ignatieff tells the truth and is willing to work together but takes a bashing. stevie-pevie lies about the Constitution and Parliamentary procedure, refuses to compromise or work with the opposition, yet insists we should give him a majority.
In saying he won't compromise with the elected opposition - which represents 2/3 of ridings - he is saying he refuses to compromise with 2/3 of Canadian voters.
Why do so many Canadians still not see how crazy this is? And how brutally contemptible harper is?

This sort of behavior plays well to those who want what they call 'firm' government.
To me, it's dictatorial, but I'm just a indian, and shouldn't be allowed to walk around like I think I'm people or something.
But it's frightening to think how three in ten people agree with this sort of government. What is necessary, of course, is to oppose it.
Personally, I blame the abject failure of the MSM media to, at every turn, call Harpo & Co. what they are (fear-mongers & liars) to be responsible for the present state of affairs. Simple fact, clear and direct language is called for regarding CPC - and we are not getting it from those in a position to highlight the hypocrisy!
I agree, Fat Arse. Even when the article explains to some degree, the headlines is often misleading, going for shock.
Troy, it's not so bad. "You people" got that whole apology thing so you and the government are good, right? Sorry, it's just so inhuman I have to joke sometimes. I'm glad both of you still blog, adding your voices. Social media is really shaping public opinion. Not as much as it will soon, so it's important we keep writing, even when we seem to be saying the same things over and over. Or so I keep telling myself.
