In the early hours of Tuesday morning, the final bell sounded on a remarkable life. Joe Frazier, who has died aged 67 following a brief fight with liver cancer, will always be remembered as Muhammad Ali’s greatest opponent. But Smokin’ Joe was much, much more than just that. His script was all of his own doing.
I really liked this man. Sad to hear he’s gone.

67 is way too young. "As It Happens" played Smokin' Joe's self-penned version of "My Way" the other night. His script was definitely all of his own doing - very well put 900ft.
That's from the best article I found on him, but it hits how I feel. I was never big on watching fights, but Frazier was different. Graceful, smaller than many boxers, and I loved watching him do interviews even when he had retired. He was more than a boxer, and that always came across, the dignity, the warmth. He was always there, as far back as I can remember.
